La regata Colón 92, de Cádiz a Puerto Rico, el recorrido  se inició con la regata, de Cádiz a Las Palmas y Tenerife (Canarias) y de allí a Puerto Rico,junio de 1992.
El buque-escuela Juan Sebastián de Elcano fue uno de los protagonistas de la Gran Regata Colón 92. La prueba tuvo un recorrido de 9.500 millas náuticas, en un viaje de cuatro meses de duración.

Un tipo de congrio (Abyssobrutula galatheae) que mide 20 centímetros ha sido detectado viviendo en la Fosa de Puerto Rico a 8,370 metros de profundidad.

The four Rio Grande Blankets self-adhesive stamps feature photographs of blankets from the collections of the Museum of International Folk Art, and the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture/Laboratory of Anthropology, both in Santa Fe, and the Taylor Museum, Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center in Colorado Springs, CO. These stamps are fifth in the American Treasures Series.
datos del segundo sello: A fifth revised American Kestrel stamp (Scott 3031A) was issued October 2000. The design was the same as that of the previous BEP American Kestrel stamps, except that the year date changed to “2000,” and it was printed in blue. It was also the first of the American Kestrel stamps to be microprinted, with “USPS” in black on the vertical branch below the bird’s claws.
